New kitchen and flooring

We're in the process of selecting a new kitchen and have realised now is probably the best time to update the flooring which has seen better days. The kitchen is in a side extension with tiles laid over a concrete floor that feels very cold. What would you consider using in this situation? We're trying to keep costs down although it's not a huge room (approx. 12 square metres including under units). For the kitchen, we're looking at a few shaker options. Budget probably won't stretch to a solid worktop, so I guess laminate will be the only option?

Thermal insulation boarding laid on top of the concrete floor before putting your choice of laminate/tiles/wood or whatever on top of that, makes a huge difference, OP. Lay as thick a depth of boarding as will fit.
I did this, before putting electric underfloor heating and tiles down over it, and it’s so much warmer I only need to use the heating during the worst of the winter, to supplement a small radiator.

Will I need to re-enforce my kitchen units for a concrete worktop, any ideas
