Do I need to replace ceiling?

I rent out a ground floor flat (tenant is a bit tricky)

There was a leak from the upstairs neighbour and water came through my ceiling. Leak was spotted quickly by my tenant and water was turned off

There was also a leak 18 months ago

I've been to see the "damage" with a surveyor. There is no staining, bulging, swelling or discolouration to the plasterboard. The ceiling feels strong and firm, there is zero evidence of any damage

There is a superficial crack which the tenant says had water pouring through it, meaning the water just drained through and wouldn't have saturated the plasterboard

Surveyor said it's all totally safe and given me a report to that affect

However, tenant is still insisting I replace that section of the ceiling

Does he have any reason to be so concerned? Seems totally unnecessary to me

It's fine, just fill the crack and paint. Do you have written confirmation from the surveyor?

Yes Daft, I do

I'm thinking there would be visible evidence if the ceiling was not sound? Can't even see there was a leak
