Help me decorate my living room

Moved in December 2020, every other room is now decorated but we're now ready to tackle the living/dining room - it's quite big but we use it most so want it to feel homely, yet modern. The carpet is staying for now so preferably something to match. We like the idea of keeping a feature wall but I detest the current wallpaper.

What are your thoughts?

I dont hate the carpet. I think it looks worse with the decor. A nice light fitting. As someone suggested RockSalt by Dulux or Natural Calico for a warmer off cream. Sage grey and dusky pink accessories. A floor lamp with a shade that ties in the carpet. TKMaxx online is your friend.

I get pink is a very in colour, I also like it but quite honestly pink in conjunction with the carpet = granny’s living room.

Love all of the suggestions especially @BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz idea with the two breasts.

I've found this online and it fills me with hope that when the wallpaper is gone, the carpet will be much less offensive!

The patio doors are lovely and I've been thinking of two voile panels rather that curtains as the current curtains block out so much light. Privacy to the rear isn't an issue as no houses back directly onto ours and there are fences either side of the garden to the neighbours so they'd have to really try to see in!

@DriftGames Apologies, that was me Blush The first pic with the brown and red box looked like a pizza box to me. Voile curtains in IKEA are budget friendly and are also quite nice so could be an option?

As always, before doing anything, planning where things would go and zoning different areas will help give an idea of how you will use the room practically on a daily basis. Obviously, it’s important to decide how to utilise your budget and current furniture can help. It just might be difficult to decorate a multipurpose room with the current flooring so that’s something to keep in mind. It might even be easier to do things in stages if there is a limited budget. If you can possibly keep the underlay so that too can cut costs.
