Belfast sink

I'm having a new kitchen and have always wanted a Belfast sink.

However it seems you have to either have granite or real wood worktops because the bowl sits underneath. I don't want real wood as high maintenance and my budge won't go to granite.

Is there such a thing as a Belfast or Butler that has a rim and sits on top of the counter? The

We have tiled sides. Sounds a bit old fashioned but nice rough edged tiles. Works well with the sink, not easy if you like a pristine shiny flat side to wipe clean though!

I think the kind for laminate are called overmounted?

I had a habitat freestanding kitchen and they made a unit with a rimmed Belfast sink.
You can search eBay or online for habitat freestanding kitchen Olivia.

Most sinks described as Belfast by EAs are usually Butler (sometimes called London) sinks.

Differences between a Belfast and a Butler:

Main one is Belfast has a weir overflow, Butler doesn't
Also; Butler are wider (typically 800mm) and shallower than Belfast (typically 600mm wide)
And; Belfast has drain close to one end, Butler's is in the middle.
