Does anyone have one? If so, is yours made of toughened glass or safety backed?

And if you're in London, any recommendations for companies to go with?

Hell to keep clean in a kitchen. I have a separate splashback with mirrored cabinets directly above the sink in my bathroom but in my kitchen I have a stainless steel splashback.

Will require daily cleaning but will look great if you can be that disciplined about it! Personally and with my family, I didn't even consider it lol

I've got one. In fact, my kitchen looks almost exactly like your example picture OP.

I really like it, it reflects a lot of light. Especially as my work surface is white too. (Corian.) I would definitely fit mirrored splashbacks myself in a future kitchen project. I much prefer it to tiles, personally.

Cleaning isn't too much of a pain, I just go over it with glass cleaner every few days.

I think it's some kind of toughened glass but I'm not sure. I can't tell you who installed it, our flat is rented and it was already here when we moved in.

Got a huge mirror in our bathroom - takes up nearly an entire wall (sized of sink unit with toilet and cupboards)

Bought from a local glass place, cut to size. And delivered. Safety backed.

Gave the bathroom fitters a challenge to get up the stairs (was quite fragile) and they made a special brace to hold it in place while the glue set.

It's fine in the bathroom, although cleaning toothpaste off it can be tedious. Would not cope with it in a kitchen

Behind the sink? I wouldn’t. We get sooo many water droplets, steam etc on our splashback behind the sink. A mirror there would drive me crazy with all the water marks.

We have hard water though so water marks are very visible. Perhaps you don’t.

Foxed or antiqued mirror is another option that won’t show marks as it’s already marked.

But depends if this suits your kitchen style.

Yes we've just had a mirrored splashback behind our hob. It's silver antiqued and toughened. Very easy to keep clean.

Meant to add, we bought ours it from Opticolour (www.opticolour.co.uk) - based in Somerset but have customers all over. Great company

I’ve just had white glass installed as our kitchen splash back by NW Glass (nothing to do with me despite the username- just our postcode). I got mirror in the bathrooms but for some reason preferred plain in the kitchen, thought it might feel weird staring at myself cooking. The walls are white and we have granite counters and upstands so it really just blends in and isn’t a feature at all the which I really like. I think it should be really practical to keep clean too as long as I avoid smears.
