I'm going to get my bathroom completely stripped out and re-done. It's really damp (no extractor fan) so the paint is peeling off the walls and there are mould spots and it's generally grim.
I'm just looking for tips and ideas of what to include/leave out to make it as nice as possible.
It's a small room so really only space for loo, basin and bath.
We currently have a shower over the bath. It's a mixer tap off the bath taps and it's fine - the pressure is great, so I'd probably get that again, unless there's any reason to get an electric shower that I'm missing? We have a combi boiler. I'm definitely going to get a shower screen rather than the current curtain which wraps around me when I shower and needs regular washing due to the mould
I'm definitely going to get an extractor fan fitted. And mixer taps on the basin so we can actually have warm water to wash hands, rather than having to choose between cold or hot (why is this not standard?!)
We currently have manky old lino on the floor, which I'd like replaced with tiles...but not sure what kind?! I'm thinking not underfloor heating as it's only a small room and I'm going to replace the heated towel rail.
In terms of design, I think something fairly traditional. I like the Oxford suite that Wickes has. White metro tiles on the walls, with paint at the top. I quite like the idea of dark teal paint. Or possibly teal tiles with white paint? Black and white tiles on the floor.
Finally, a new wall mounted medicine cabinet (as large as possible!) and some wall mounted shelves for toiletries.
Have I missed anything? I'd really welcome some ideas, especially with regards to flooring.
