Someone has given me a propane space heater for Christmas as I have been whinging about my remote workshop being cold. Unfortunately, the propane space heater requires electricity to power the turbo fan!

There is no mains electricity to the workshop and no chance at all of it being installed due to its location.

I can't return the heater but would like to ask whether anyone knows whether I can run the heater off a leisure battery or something similar, bearing in mind that the fuel source for the heat is propane and the fan requires electricity.

It's a Little Devil 2 Propane Space Heater...

Thank you for reading this and I hope there is a solution.

Tbh I would get a bottled gas heater that doesn't need an electrical supply instead. There are loads available.
How do you manage in a workshop without power?

Connect the mains lead to a standard, 230 Volt (50Hz) electrical supply through an approved BS1363/A plug fitted with a BS1362 13 amp fuse

I’ve done a quick google and can’t see a 230 Volt one, I may be looking in the wrong place but I did find this info on a caravan info site.

“ Your leisure battery will not power any mains appliances.
The mains sockets are only active when the van is connected to the mains power.
Inverters can be used to supply mains power from the leisure battery BUT it will discharge the battery VERY quickly and is not worth bothering with, especially considering the cable size required and limitations on use. An inverter will NOT power all the caravan sockets, only the ones attached to the inverter itself.
It is very important to remember that the 12v (DC) and 230v (AC) systems are totally separate systems and do NOT cross over at any point.”

Page 2 & 3 of the operating manual parameters and safety precautions makes me feel I wouldn’t want it in my shed tbh. Why can’t it be returned?
