Partially blocked loo, probably by waste plaster. Help?

Bloody plasterers made a massive mess of the bathroom floor, as they didn't cover it. They were subcontracted in, and the contractor made them clean up (did a really poor job, and needed loads more cleaning by both the contract tor, and then me), and it turns out that they put the waste down the loo, and some into the shower (the shower plug filter clogged up and prevented them putting much down there).

Now the loo, which flushed fine before is often not flushing away loo paper, and needs three attempts etc. Is it likely that we can get this fixed cheaply, or is more likely that we'll need to replace the loo, waste etc?

you can clean out the trap with a gloved hand, but there may be material in the soil pipe. A plumber can remove the pan and have a look.

Where is the manhole nearest to this point?

There's a manhole in my back garden, not sure what it's for?

I'd try chucking buckets ( with a little force ,hence the chucking ) of water down the loo .I've heard that hot water helps .Not tried .

somebody should look in the manhole and see if there is plaster in it.

It's surely not your job to fix? Get the contractor to sort it as they sub contracted to some dodgy operators!

The contractor was awful and a bully. I also have ptsd related to conflict and can't deal with him. It was hard enough getting him to get them to clean the floor at all.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I can try to see if I can get it up.
