I'm looking to get anew kitchen but don't have a huge budget. B&Q did me a nice plan and there is now 20% off.

Has anyone any experience of their kitchens?

Good? Bad? Average?

Many thanks

We have a B&Q kitchen that was fitted by them, it's fine, it's a kitchen and does the job.

Kitchen snobs will turn their noses up at them though.

We have one that was fitted by a joiner, not by B&Q it's nice, it's all in the design and the fitting.
Sort of like how a lot of people hate flat pack furniture Ikea and the like. It because it's been put together in a rush without preper care and isn't sturdy.

We had a b& q kitchen in a previous house, for the price it was excellent, looked good and lasted well. The couple who bought the house off us loved it. Everything was delivered in one go and nothing was broken/ missing as far as I can remember.

As posted above , the kitchen snobs will turn their noses up at a mere whisper at the words ( b&q ). So just tell everyone it was bespoke 😀

Mine was fitted 12 years ago. Never had a problem with it in that time. Still looks great. Probably not the best quality, but price and service were fantastic.

We've had quite a few people say "ooo, I love your kitchen!!", we just say thanks. Honestly, most people will never know where a kitchen is from, regardless of what they might think.

B and Q are absolutely fine just get a good independent fitter.
Mine old one was wickes and people used to fall over themselves to tell me how great it was (I had a custom worktop so peoe assumed it was fancier)

My advice : to go 3 or 4 places and get them all to design kitchens for you.
Spend a long time revieiwng them and mix and match elements if needed.
Biggest mistake people make is a poor design.
Work hard on getting that right the rest follows.
Go when it's a bit quieter
Don't tell them your budget
be nice to the designer (they can discount units further) Wink

In my previous house we had a Wren kitchen which was an ok price but they were rubbish and delivered the wrong bits, tried to charge me to replace with the right ones etc. It did not last well. Five years on it looked very tired.

I had been thinking of getting one of those companies in to paint doors and do a new worktop but the quote for that was higher than expected. I figure I get the B&Q one and if it's gets tired in 5 years I spruce that one up because I had it from new and know where it's been!!

I'm not sure where else to try for my budget.

Feedback much appreciated thanks.

has your plan got the measurements of the units on it go onto other sites and input the units and compare price, thats what we did and ended up with a DIY kitchen and very happy with the look and the price of it, we didnt buy any appliances though just units worktops and sink

We had a B and Q kitchen in a previous house. Kitchen was fine but the fitters were awful. It was a tiny kitchen and took nearly 2 weeks to install as they would come for a few hours and disappear to do other jobs. The floor had to be re done twice as they botched it. I'd never have fitters supplied by them again.

We had a B&Q kitchen fitted a year ago, really happy with it for the price we paid, paid a very good independent fitter few hundred pound to fit it. Was a fraction of cost of everywhere else we looked and lady who designed it in store for us was brill too. Would definitely use them again

We had a B&Q kitchen in our previous house. We bought handles and flooring separately but the kitchen was fantastic and estate agent told us it sold the house.

damnthemanatee · 30/12/2020 07:48

We have one which was cheap.
It looked fine when we first moved in but hasn't lasted well and the units were peeling near the cooker fairly quickly.
The door on one unit is falling off and has been fixed so many times we can't do anything with it now.
I'm sure the better quality ones are fine.
