Shower over bath??

We are in need of a new bathroom and our bathroom is TINY. We are looking at ways to get a better configuration than we currently have, which is a bath with a small size separate shower cubicle that abut each other. Question is - if you were buying a 5 bed detached house, would a bathroom with shower over the bath put you off? Would you expect a separate shower cubicle?? We do have an en suite shower room too but that is also very small. We don't particularly plan to move, but we don't want to rule it out so I don't want to install something that would put off future buyers. All opinions welcome! Thank you Smile

We are in a similar setup. 5 bed, shower en-suite, shower over bath in the family bathroom.

We have one of those baths that are almost circular at the shower end, so there’s plenty of space.

Given that the adults use the en-suite shower, and most people with a 5 bed have kids, I think a shower over bath is better for the house. More practical for washing different ages, and the extra floor space is important with kids.

@justabigdisco nope, it's a 1930s house (built 1935)! The bathroom has been split to hive off the en suite. All the bedrooms are doubles, it's a reasonable size house (2400 sq ft) with a large garden, just the bathroom that's the issue.

Will check out baths for over bath showers - that's probably the most straightforward solution.

@Indoctro I immediately loved that pic of the freestanding bath with screen next to it, until I realised that EVERY nook and cranny would be full of dust/soap scum within a week Grin
I am on Pinterest tho, am scoping out ideas but not seen the right thing yet...

Would be a plus for a young family. I use the shower over my bath all the time with her kids when they bath, washing shampoo/conditioner out of their hair etc.. it’s a lot easier to wash the bath afterwards too.

I think if you are considering re sale as per original post that the short deep tub thing is quite marmite/niche. I think people expect a full bath in the family bathroom in a five bed house. Adults use the en suite
Mostly. Having both is a luxury only the largest bathrooms provide. Like the sound of the bath with large shower end.

You will definitely find something lovely on there and it will make the whole bathroom seem much more spacious, if you go for shower over bath.

I would def prefer shower over bath.
Hate small cubicles you bash about in and I find those short tubs annoying - worst of both worlds.
