Gas and electric

Ok help me out here Grin
I have gas and electric and usually use a bit more electric than gas (GCH, gas hob, power showers)
I'm querying my bill but the energy company are saying it's right Hmm
Basically I've gone from using say £25 gas/£35 electric to £70 electric and £12 gas Confused despite no changes in the home

Having looked at my bill, my gas usage is the same but my electric use has gone from 5kwh to 10kwh (from this time last year)
Any bright ideas? I have started a complaint and made it clear I'm not complaining about the actual prices, I'm querying how I'm using £12 of gas with the heating on/cooking etc and my electric is sky high

@Nandakanda I can't count Blush that was actually midday to 8am so 20hrs which seems ok
5 would be standard for me, 10 is what it's saying I'm using daily and why the bill is so high. Going to keep an eye and see

How old is your fridge and freezer?

How do you heat the hot water?

Usage around 350W to 500W is quite low, and makes 12kWh per day or less.

The red light flashes faster corresponding to electricity usage. For example (it will be printed on the meter) it might be 1,000 flashes per kWh.

If you turn off all your MCBs one at a time, then on one at a time, you should detect which circuit has the highest load, so you can see what's on it. Electric showers use the most.

for comparison I use around 7.5kw a day, but heating and hot water are on lovely cheap oil, and hob cooking is on bottled LPG, even cheaper.

@PigletJohn fridge freezer fairly new, maybe 3 years old. Hot water is combi boiler (ideal logic)
No electric showers

To top my week off, I got a message to say there was sewage outside. Went out to look and found it's luckily not from my drain but the other apartments. However "sewage" was putting it politely, there is solid piles of shit (probably 50 or so) all over the grass outside SadAngry
Water company are coming out hopefully tomorrow...
