Question about flooring

I am trying to make sense of this from the surveyors report “floors throughout are of suspended timber construction and boarded and there are fitted coverings throughout”.

Does that mean the floor is proper wooden floor or ordinary floor boards?

It’s been a while so don't want to ask the surveyor if the meaning is relatively straightforward.

What do you mean by a “proper wooden floor”? Floorboards are a proper wooden floor. I assume he means floorboards over joists.

I'm assuming an older house ?
I've never lived in one, the floors in houses I've owned have been concrete flooring. I expect he cannot lift carpet to inspect so it's probably just standard jargon.

It means there are floor boards- but they could be particle boards rather than planks. Fitted covering = carpets which is probably why he couldn't see what type of boards are there.

I was hoping that we could use the timber floors as they are. Just restore but I am guessing they are meant to be covered?
