I used to use radiator covers to cover ugly one, but in my new home replaced with column heaters.

Bit pointless. I'd rather spend the money on other stuff

Concealing radiators behind covers is just as sensible as putting crinolines on table-legs.

We recently got rid of ours and our rooms are so much warmer. I would recommend replacing them with the tall radiators which are lovely to lean against.

Yeah we are running out of budget in house so having replaced the oldest non working radiators with nice ones....we are reluctantly keeping the very very ugly working ones in half the rooms. Dh suggested radiator covers...I think we’ll just paint them!

If you paint them you can just use the same emulsion as you use for the walls. You do not need special radiator paint. Satinwood paint is also fine and has the advantage of being more easily washable if necessary.

Yes, awful, we've had one in the hall which has finally gone in the last couple of weeks & we've replaced horrible ugly radiator with gorgeous column radiator.
