Non-standard concrete construction?

We've been house hunting a while and today has been the most we've ever liked a place, ticks all our accessibility needs and then some, we could see a few niggles, but as we were one of six viewings today and there are more tomorrow so a couple hours after our viewing, we called to ask a few more questions to lead into making an offer subject to survey and contract.

We were paused at mentioning that we have a mortgage agreement in principle to be told that it's non-standard construction, she thinks it's concrete, possibly Wates Construction. The person on the phone had no other details other than it would be harder to get a mortgage. Our broker has asked for more details that I'm hoping to get when we get a callback from someone else at the estate agent's before.

I've seen that in listings before, but it wasn't in this one - this was the first it came up. From what I can tell from brief googling, I need to ask about PRC certificate tomorrow - the costs and process if it doesn't is well beyond what we're up to. Is there anything else I should ask or consider in this?

Mine is easi form concrete. I was told I'd struggle to get a mortgage but it was fine.
I went to London and Country mortgages and they found me one. I've been with Nationwide and Santander - no problems. The house was always REALLY cold, until we got grants to help with insulation - external wall insulation made a huge difference. Also look at loft and cavity insulation. There's not supposed to be a cavity, with concrete houses, apparently, but there is on mine

We once considered a non standard construction house (pulled out for other reasons). As far as I remember getting a mortgage wasn't an issue as long as they had the certificate proving that it had the necessary works completed. If they don't have the certificate then walk away.

Thank you both for your responses.

@AndNowItsHappeningInMine Good to know about the insulation. We did notice it seemed cold. How was it in the summer and how did that change after the insulation?

Today's person was able to confirm it's Wates construction, but not whether it's undergone an approved repair scheme or has a valid certificate (it turned out to mainly be a sales call trying to sell us on their mortgage broker...). Someone is meant to be calling me back at some time today or tomorrow to discuss the certificate. It really is all coming down to that, wish things like this could be more upfront!

My house is beautifully cool in summer, its really comfortable. Its MUCH warmer now, it used to be that people visiting kept their coats on, but I think it's just a normal house now.
