New cooker - probably stupid question

Our cooker has broken so obvs need a new one quickly before Christmas.

Looking on AO and found one that I like, but it says 'needs 8.5kw electrical connection' (for the oven, it's a gas hob).

How do I find out whether we have this connection? I've tried googling and the results it's coming up with are v technological and I'm confused!

The house was rewired fairly recently (around 7 years ago) so could we just assume it's fine? We'll obviously being paying for installation as well.

It's probably fine, how old was the previous oven? We took out an Aga this year and had a new oven installed. Had to have our proper electrician come and sort out the electrics, as it was completely different. AO couldn't do it with their installation (despite reassuring me several times they could 🙄).

Oh bugger that's annoying re: AO, I had assumed they would be able to do it all?

Re age of last cooker, it was here when we moved in (less than 2 years ago) but the kitchen is pretty new, maybe 4 years old? So can't imagine it's older than that. It's just not very good!

AO couldn't do mine because Aga was on different kind of electrical thingy, but sounds as though they'll be able to do yours, and should already be at required standard since not old 😀

Well called them and they can't do it because our cooker hood is too low Hmm but we've at least established our electrical circuit is ok!
