Changing gas hob to electric cost

So we are getting our kitchen changed mid December and originally we were going to keep the gas hob to save money but now considering swapping it to electric. The cost of an electric hob is fine, it's just the work/cost that comes with it. Any ideas on cost to remove gas hob and replace with electric one? I find the gas hob a pain to clean and I think an electric one will suit the modern look of the new kitchen, it is also quite scratched.

Presumably you are having induction rather than normal electric ....

Removal of the gas will involve paying a GasSafe registered engineer to come and remove the pipes and cap them.
Installing the new hob is simpler - you just need to make sure you have the right fuses in your RCD - do you already have a hob socket available

Most likely induction yes, reading online this seems to be the better option. I actually don't know if there is a hob socket, it was here when we moved in 7 months ago Blush

Induction is the bees knees

Your best bet is to get a plumber to come and quote for taking out the gas hob
and an electrician to quote for fitting the electric

if its being done as part of a kitchen rip out, the fitters might even know tame guys who can make it all seamless

I switched from electric to gas an in 2014 it was £150 via British Gas. I had the plumber down the road do it for £20 cheaper.
