selling flat - seed of variation

I'm middle of selling my flat (107year lease left) and was asked for deed of variation from buyers lender.
I heard it cost a lot for this to ask management company.
I have checked with friend of my who sold her flat last year but she didn't need to do this.

Would someone give me idea what this is for? sorry i'm totally at a loss!

What your solicitor needs to find out is whether the buyer's lender would prefer it to be changed or won't lend it it isn't.

If it's the latter then there's nothing to stop you asking them to pay for the variation - the worst they can do is say no or offer to go halves.
