Quote for deep clean after moving out

I have started getting quotes for an end of tenancy deep clean - 2 bed flat with one bathroom. Oven is admittedly dirty but otherwise place will be in good condition. First quote back at £370 which seems very high to me. Any thoughts? Am in NW if anyone has a good recommendation.

Clean it yourself and buy a new oven would probably be cheaper? Lol only joking, I hate cleaning! But if it’s not that bad I would definitely consider doing it myself.

Think we paid about £350 for one bedroom flat in London including oven and carpets

Jo4Laurie · 12/11/2020 14:51

@lurker101 just got another quote for £150...

Wow! That’s great value then! Make sure you get confirmation from them (in writing) that should there be any queries from the landlord/letting agent on standard of clean that they will come back and rectify it. You shouldn’t need it, but it can save you some deposit money should the landlord/letting agent try to pull a fast one. And definitely keep your receipt safe, when we had a deposit dispute we attached our receipt and got our full deposit back

It's a few years ago but i once got a quote just to deep clean my kitchen and it was well in excess of £100 so the £370 doesn't sound so bad to me! That said, divide it by the number of staff and how long it will take them to see if they're taking the mickey.

I paid £150 for a 3 bed semi. Not London and 3 years ago. They did a shit job so my only regret is not doing it myself.

Clarify what it includes. Carpet steam, curtain steam, windows in and out, oven door glass removed and cleaned. It needs to match (hopefully exceed) the cleaning condition at check in.

Thanks all this is really helpful. I might just do it myself rather than paying for mediocre job and landlord taking extra deposit anyway!

I paid about £120 for a 4 bed. This didn't include the oven for which I got a specialist company in, who charged £50.
