Karndean flooring?

Anyone got Karndean flooring? How have you found it? Worth the money? I want realistic stone tiles but I don't want actual tiles and these seem the best thing for that.

I know that dog people like it as it’s meant to be hard wearing.

We have dogs and a toddler so that's a key part of it yes!

We've got it in the kitchen. Its ok. It does the job, though I can't really get excited about it. I'm not sure it is twice as good as the flooring we have in the bathroom that was half the cost.

I've had it in 2 previous houses and a commercial premises. I highly rate it and intend to have it again when we re-purchase. It's pretty bombproof, low maintenance and far more forgiving than ceramic. It is worth paying fir a decent installer however. The last one we had took an age to level the solid ground floor but the result was definitely worth it

The company that makes Karndean makes other cheaper brands too.

I think I’m right in saying for warranty purposes you’re expected to have a registered fitter put it in. But the cheaper alternatives don’t.

Hello @YellowEllis

This is what I posted on another thread about Karndean:

Please be very careful to only get genuine flooring (whether that be Karndean, Amtico or one of the other named brands) and get a qualified fitter.

Unfortunately there are a lot of unscrupulous conmen out there who charge for the real deal, but switch it for an inferior knock-off version. My fitter says his heart sinks whenever a customer tells him what a 'great deal' they got. He says he can instantly tell the fake stuff because the construction is all wrong.

Anyway...I've got both Karndean and Amtico in my house. It's been down almost two years. No marks or scratches at all (I've got a football boot wearing DS and two rescue cats).

Depending on the type of Karndean you buy , it's covered by warranty for residential use for anything between 10 years and lifetime use. The warranty is transferrable to new owners if you sell your house. (You have to buy it from a Karndean official retailer and use a qualified fitter).

I'm not affiliated to Karndean in any way, I'm just a very satisfied customer.

I have karndean in two bathrooms and most of downstairs (utility, kitchen diner, hallway and WC). We picked it over other flooring like tiles for warmth, and over wood for ease of maintenance. We've had it nearly a year and have been very happy with it, no marks or issues with it though I know it's only been down a short time. Cleans really easily too.

We’ve got moduleo - v similar and love it.
Looks great, warm underfoot a d seems very hardwearing

We have Amtico throughout our kitchen, dining room, and playroom. 4 years on and it still looks like new despite 2 kids, pets, and not being particularly careful. It's easy to keep clean, and we just do the normal sweep/mop/hoover. It wasn't cheap, but still agree with our choice of flooring.
The only thing I don't like about it is the colour (dark grey tile effect, wish we'd chosen wood effect) as it shows ever tiny crumb. I also wish that it could be steam mopped, but that's a small grumble.
