Light coloured wood burning stove

My husband and I are having a wood burning stove fitted and have fallen in love with a particular one. We originally wanted pale grey but changed our minds to gun metal but are having issues finding someone to fit it as they all seem very cautious about the colour. One said that it discolours but surely all the soot/smoke goes up the chimney? And another said it chips over time.

Does anyone have a light coloured stove? If so has it lasted colour wise? Does it chip easily?

Very bizarre ! Try the folk I recommended or maybe ask Stanegate Stoves in newburn for some advice/recommendations too, they supplied our stove and sub contracted our installation. Good luck getting sorted.

I have the charn wood island 11 in gun metal. I have no issues with it and it comes with paint also, so if you get any issues you can spray it back, I’ve not had any issues, and have not used the paint in three years since we got it.

The island 11 is multi fuel not sure which one you’re going for op?

And to the op, no these are not going to be banned, it is the fuel that’s being banned, wet wood or normal coal. And these new stoves are very efficient.

I have a white enamel Jotul stove which is 4 years old and looks as good as the day it was installed.

I think that Charnwood stoves are painted and not enamelled so that might be the issue.
