I remember my dad did this when we lived at home. He had the box room and gave me his room which was the middle sized one, my brothers shared the other.

I have dd1(23) and ds (18) at home still. Neither will be going anywhere soon as dd is in first year of uni (staying at home) and ds is at college and very much a home bod.

They both spend a lot of time on their rooms and ds in particular has a lot of stuff as he collects movie memorabilia. He is currently in the box room.

I currently have the largest room but I really only sleep in it and get ready for work in there of a morning.

The box room is not a bad room, it has a nice window with a nice view and a built in cupboard that could easily be a wardrobe. I think it could actually be made quite nice.

My other dd who doesn't live here thinks I'm mad.

Oh I'm single btw so it would only be for me.

Has anyone else done this ??

It's a rented HA house btw so moving isn't an option and I wouldn't want a bigger house anyway as I plan to downsize when they've flown the nest as I actually prefer smaller properties.

We did when our children were small. We had a two bedroom flat and they had the larger bedroom as.a bedroom cum playroom.

Im giving my tween the en-suite attic conversion which will be the nicest bedroom in the house once it's done.

When DS was young he always had to move out of his room and share with us when his step brother/sister came at weekend . He never really got a room to call his own. I split with his father and when we moved I gave him the biggest room as he spends lots of time in there . He has room for his music, PlayStation and huge TV and for his mates to come round. I like my cosy bedroom and the lounge is my domain.
