We are supposed to have a property that people moving out of London
wants so only 2 viewings is disappointing
Stamp duty thing not making any difference

Our property has been on for 2 months and only 1 viewing 😔

Eviebeans · 26/10/2020 13:43

Ours is at the lower end price wise and supposedly attractive to 1st time buyers... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Willowwood45 · 26/10/2020 13:58

My sister is a first time buyer currently looking. The amount the banks want from them for a deposit is obscene. Also, I know friends who are first time buyers who are waiting to see if house prices drop next year. It kust be so frustrating for you. I'm sorry.

Eviebeans · 26/10/2020 14:02

I wouldn't mind if prices dropped cos that would be across the board. We have found that 1st time buyers have been unable to get the finance to purchase...

FangsForTheMemory · 26/10/2020 15:52

Post a link and people can tell you if they think there’s an obvious problem?

Ellmau · 26/10/2020 16:39

It may be price.

Is it in a decent school catchment area? Are other properties in the area selling?

We're FTB and have had to pause our house search because we just can't afford the deposit that banks want from us. The silly thing is we have 10% saved and ready to go, and we are both teachers so we are completely recession-proof with year on year pay increases. Hopefully banks lower their LTV rate soon!

DeadHouseBounce · 27/10/2020 23:15

FTB`ers have maybe finally woken up?

m0therofdragons · 28/10/2020 09:05

I read that the stamp duty thing is helping those already on the housing ladder to move up rather than first time buyers who are waiting and watching the market, mostly unable to get a mortgage right now.
