EA's whilst viewing houses

Our house is for sale and we've so far viewed nine houses. We've made no offers

All but one EA left us to wonder around the houses when viewing and didn't really say anything unless asked. They kept close at all times

One EA though gave us almost a running commentary as he walked us round and tbh I thought he was very good and I quite liked it. He obviously really enjoyed his job and had a great knowledge of the house

I just wondered what people prefer when viewing?

Also, how do you feel about the actual owner showing you round? Our house was shown to us by the owner and it was great. He was able to answer questions that an EA couldn't, things like who lives next door, how long have they been there etc

I hate it when viewing with the owner there. It just makes it really awkward and fake. Its not like you can really say what you think etc..... its also a bit pointless asking questions as they won't admit the neighbours are freaks who do yoga naked every day at 6am while chanting will they?

I prefer just to be left alone to wander around. I don't need an estate agent to point out this is a bedroom, this is a kitchen etc......

My preference is for the agent to give a brief introduction, offer to answer any questions and let us have a look whilst giving us a bit of space so we can whisper to each other.

Re owners, it’s been a mixed bag for me: some really good and knowledgable but some awkward, stressed out or even overbearing making me want to run.

First viewing should be agent 2nd with vendor for any questions the EA wont know the answer to
