Help, Any experts about? PigletJohn? Moved into a Redrow house this week and 2 of the toilets are filling high, the en-suite toilet bubbles when you use the sink and the washing machine water comes up the sink drains when it pumps! We can’t find a stench pipe and the toilets are coming back clear when we’ve Plunged them, can anyone help point us in the right direction? ☹️

Have you lifted the manhole in your garden or drive?
Also, check with your neighbours either side of you and directly across the road. If any of them have the same problem then it suggests that its the public sewer that's the problem the local water company should sort it out (provided that they have been adopted from the developer).

I would try and report to the site manager in the morning- it's generally the fastest way to get action. If you can't contact the site manager then call customer services. Have you lifted the manhole covers? You may find that they're filled with rubble and Redrow should sort it out for you.

You need to lift the manhole cover. With gloves —a peg on your nose— get in there. My dds manage to flush the cardboard loo roll down. That was causing the blockage 💩

I'd be trying to rod your drains if you were in an established house, but as you're in a brand new house I'd get straight onto the developer to sort as that's unacceptable

Thanks everyone appreaciate your answers especially so late at night. The house is 9 years old so no site manager, looks like a drain rod it is! Can anyone give me an idea how much I should be paying? 4 bed house? Thanks 😀

Open the outside drain and move the blockage with a stick. Have someone turn the hot water tap full and just keep moving the material along. You may find you need to do this periodically as new builds have cheap narrow waste pipes quite often. You don’t need a plumber.

Thank you, will try and work out which drain is ours and have a go 😀
