just do a spin, or even a wash, and pump it out.
I expect the water has come from the sink.
a very common error is to connect the waste hose from the washer to the sink trap in such a way that the sink water can run into it. If you post a photo of the hose where it connects to the kitchen drain pipe I can tell you if that's likely.
Another less common fault is the electric water valve in the washer, that is opened when the programmer tells it to fill, is worn out or clogged with scale, greit or rust from the pipes, and water is leaking through it.
In this case, turn off the appliance tap(s) where they connect the blue (and sometimes red) filling hoses to the (usually copper) water pipes, usually under the sink.
I have only seen that happen after plumbing repairs in a very old house, and when the repairman changed the valves, I could see a clog of rust flakes inside. This is an easy fix for the repairman, though I remember that the Bosch valve is more expensive than most other brands because it is in some way non-standard.
This will presumably be the landlord's responsibility but you might as well work out what the problem is before getting it fixed.
If it is the first option, you can fix it yourself in four minutes using a piece of string, which may be more convenient than waiting for a repair(wo)man.
