So, I'm checking out some EuroMillions houses (I live in hope) & found an unusual one. But what is this, in the bathroom? I thought it must be a radiator but there's one already.

What is this thing in the bathroom?

no idea what the silver thing is though

What would someone want to plug in above a bidet?

I don't even have a bidet in my bathroom.

And why is a boxed off range a PITA?

I don't even have a socket in my bathroom.

QueenOllie · 06/10/2020 17:07

@picklemewalnuts I just had to stifle a snort while reading your comment. Maybe they're into being watched in bed BlushGrin

littleburn · 06/10/2020 17:09

Is the towel/bath robe thingy heated? Thereby combining the practical and the artistic Confused

DustyMaiden · 06/10/2020 17:10

I get the feeling the owner has died but still wandering about.

TheOneTheOnlyPedroPony · 06/10/2020 17:20

Far too many photos of the view and only 5 of the interior. I got an automated message asking if I'd like to view the property and was tempted to reply no I am just a nosey fucker!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 06/10/2020 17:21

I think the silvery pipe is someone's first attempt at installing the chimney for a wood burning stove in the room below.

GlamGiraffe · 06/10/2020 17:32

Its the flue from the Aga made into an erm..decorative feature upstairs. You can tell from the floorplan. That room must be like a sauna with a cast iron radiator in there as well. Worryingly those details have far more pictures of the outside than inside. Always a suspicious sign!

Kenworthington · 06/10/2020 17:35

The kitchen and bathroom are ODD aF. But my god what an amazing house and glorious setting

ConcreteUnderpants · 06/10/2020 17:39

What a view!
But bathroom sinks in the kitchen?! Bizarre bathroom.
Bet the rest of the house is a horror, hence the lack of photos.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 06/10/2020 17:43

Well, I have a ticket in tonight's draw. If I win, you're all invited round for a cream tea next summer.

Just don't let me wake up one mornig to find you all sitting there staring at me.

Justmuddlingalong · 06/10/2020 19:02

Fingers crossed for you. Are you going to keep the silver bathroom thingamybob?

NewHouseNewMe · 06/10/2020 21:41

It's a Lutyens house, philistines people.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 06/10/2020 21:46

Just Thanks! I'll find out what it is & what it's for, first, I think.

New Are they all this weird?

NewHouseNewMe · 06/10/2020 22:03

He was a visionary, truly a pioneer of the arts & crafts movement. I doubt the weirdness of that house was his design Grin

Greensidepark · 08/10/2020 12:47

Oh would buy this in a heartbeat. So beautiful

movingonup20 · 08/10/2020 12:52

That bathroom is actually illegal - you can't have standard sockets. They wouldn't be able to sell to someone who has a mortgage without it being changed, know someone who had exactly this issue. More money that sense

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 08/10/2020 20:06

@movingonup20

'illegal bathroom'?
That would be a nuisance - if it got arrested and put in prison. No where to wash... Sad

OnCandyStripeLegs · 08/10/2020 20:16

Why are there so many arm chairs all facing the bed in that bedroom photo? What were they watching???

PigletJohn · 08/10/2020 22:13

@allNewHouseNewMe

I used to go to New Place before it was a hotel.

Nicely built but transparently an expensive pastiche.

Some of the plumbing was whimsical.

MrsMoastyToasty · 09/10/2020 09:09

Why so many photos of the sea? That won't be in the sale!

Henio · 09/10/2020 09:12

That house has so much potential!
