Double yellow line road

Does anyone have experience of living on a road with double yellow lines? We've seen a house we love which is set back from a double yellow line road (but not set back enough for off street parking). There is plenty of parking in surrounding roads though, so that's not really an issue. But how about for deliveries etc, or if we want to convert the loft - how would that work if builders etc can't park outside the house? Thanks!

We have double yellows outside and it's not really an issue BUT we can get around the back. In terms of deliveries etc vans tend to perch on the pavement out front. Not sure about building work if there is no back or side access.

I would say parking away from the house at times is a pain - bags of shopping, holiday suitcases etc

I'm on a permit parking only street, and in general it is fine. Usually I can park close to my house, but chances are if I have done a big shop,or it is late at night, I can't.

Of course, it is not double yellow lines, but visitors generally hate it.

I wouldn’t consider double yellow lines, too many problems. Everyone else will be in the side streets.

Permit parking is very different to double yellows. It's a massive benefit to residents imo

Thanks all. Hmm yes we have small children, and we do go camping a lot in the summer so it'd be a real pain having to lug everything to whatever side street we were parked in. Well I guess that explains why the house has been on the market a while in an area where things are usually snapped up within a week or two!
