Help! I need advice / suggestions for paint colours for a family home that we may (all being well) try to sell next year....

We are about to get some of our house redecorated, including the (north facing, dark) hallway, living room (north & south) and the kids' bedroom (south east, bright). The original plan was to sell asap but that's on hold for now - hopefully only until spring/summer next year but no certainties. I'd really appreciate thoughts on colours! If we were going to sell next month I'd paint everything white, if we were going to stay I'd be much more bold, but as it's all up in the air I can't decide whether to fall somewhere in the middle in case we get stuck here... For context, it's a 3 bed victorian house in London, our style is q stripped (and battered) floorboards and doors etc.

Kids room - currently painted northern light by fired earth, a lovely bright icy blue which works with the hicks blue in the room next door. The blinds have trees on so green/brown with off-white. Ideally I'd repaint the same colour (colour matched) - but if not I don't want white as I think it will get scuffed etc. Grey is dated but how about a soft v light grey / greige? They'd have navy or black if it was up to them! both under 7, white bunk beds.. or is there a v soft green / greenish off-white that would work?

Hallway - currently F&B Strong white, same as in living room and kitchen. Decorator says ceiling and walls should be same colour to make it easier (gave us a good price). If we were staying I would definitely do at least one wall in a very dark colour - the one that that sweeps from door up to height of house. It's a dark hallway with white painted stairs and I don't think much is going to brighten it up - and again worried about scuffs and marks on a bright white wall. Maybe white is the best plan though??

Living room - will probably just repaint in strong white but again if staying we would go dark walls...

Any suggestions v gratefully received!

Oh and also - victorian house so walls are fine but not totally perfect, so I don't think light reflecting / satiny paint would work (and I don't like it). Woodwork will be eggshell, probably pure white / White Tie matched. Carpets upstairs are a paleish biscuit colour.

Honestly I would go for Egyptian cotton through the who house. Its the perfect neutral but looks different in different light so not bland. Dulux easycare is fab, but the regular dulux is OK to and a lot cheaper. You will have no wastage and will be able to just keep one tin for touching up.
