Is now a bad time to move house?

We sold our house in June, it’s due to complete in a few weeks time.

We haven’t been able to find anywhere to call our forever home so are reluctantly moving into rented for hopefully no more than a few months so that we don’t lose our buyers and the chain completes.

With covid the market has been pretty dead here (North East) for the last month. I think there is just so much uncertainty re people selling up.

I’m fearful that we will get ‘stuck’ in rented accommodation for too long if nothing comes up and we will miss the stamp duty break.

What does everyone think?

If the recession pans out as predicted, you might miss out on the stamp duty break but you’ll be able to buy on the cheap and save even more.

You’re also selling at top of the market now (presumably) so financially it should be a good move even if a lot of hassle.

Yes we have got a good price for our house so that’s one thing.

Just hate the idea of pouring money down the rental drain. Let’s just hope properties start coming back on the market soon

I'm not sure where you are looking to live in the North East or prices. But the are area I live in the North East has been manic. It depends on what your looking for.
