Hi
I'm looking for some help, I had a brass knocker on my front door which I want to remove and put up a door bell. The door bell will cover the holes that will be left, but I don't like the thought of just leaving them on the inside.
Should I fill them in? How Smile
I can't find any information on the internet about how to fill in this type of hole hope someone can help

Hi, do you mean the holes left from removing the knocker will be visible on the inside of the door?
If so you want the best filler that most closely matches the finish of the door. Upvc is difficult to get something to match the finish of with a filler, I'd say your best bet would be decorators caulk or general purpose filler.
Screw fix have caulk in a bag you could just cut open and use with a filling knife: www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-decorators-caulk-white-400ml/859fh
Filling knife if you don't have one: www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-dual-moulded-filling-knife-2/13020

It will be messy and go everywhere but should do what you need.

If you'd like less mess and don't mind the finish not being so shiny / more Matt you can use filler instead: www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-fine-surface-filler-white-600g/71551

Hope that's helpful!

The man who replaced a pane in a window for us recently recommended something called stelmax, we've not used it but he said its brilliant. In his words you fill it, sand it back and you can't tell the difference! Amazon sell it.

Thanks 🙏

Hi OP, did you have any luck with Stelmax? We have the exact same issue, i've read it can be too liquid to easily fill holes. Thanks
