Mistakes left by kitchen fitter

Can I ask your opinion - we've had some changes to our kitchen, not a full refurb but new sink/tiles/worktops.

Our fitter took a lot longer than he originally said, was late several times (by several hours some days), brought in others to do most of the work and they seemed not to care that much, and any work he did himself wasn't to standard, and now we've paid and he's left we've discovered a few mistakes we didn't see before, including a broken panel in a cupboard on the inside, uneven grouting, exposed sink pipes inside a cupboard. He'd also missed a few areas of paint and we had to paint under the radiators ourselves when he left as there were massive gaps. There was a lot of mess/dust left behind too. I wish I'd said more or complained more at the time but I think I just wanted it over.

He had excellent reviews on a trade website. I am tempted to call him back to fix things but my DP is saying to cut our losses and leave it as it is, as overall - we are 90% happy with the job aesthetically and we'd rather not have him damaging anything further.

It's just left a bitter taste for me - has anyone else had something like this happen? Should we just forget it? Leave a bad review? Call him back? Complain?

I just keep thinking about it - especially when I'm in the kitchen which is a lot!!

thank you for reading!

I would call him back and give him a chance to put it right. Not saying anything and leaving a bad review is a bit passive aggressive. If he doesn't put stuff right or gets shirty with you, then a poor rewiew might be justified, although it won't help you a jot in the long term.
