How to fit extra wide threshold strip

Hello!

I've got the strip, I have a hacksaw, screws, plugs (are they wall plugs, raw plugs, or rawl plugs?), and a determined set to my jaw.

But... Where the carpet meets the vinyl, the door frame is not straight because of the sticky out and sticky in shape of the wood. I'm not very technical - please feel free to put me straight so I don't embarrass myself forever.

So I think I need to shape the trim so it sits flush with the door frame even though it's going to be a bugger, don't I?

It is common to cut the bottom of the door lining ("frame") so the threshold slides under it.

Door linings are fixed to the wall, not the floor.

A multi cutter is useful for this but you might manage with a handsaw.

@PigletJohn ahhhh yes that makes sense! Thank you, I'll see to it tomorrow - I bought myself a handsaw this week, so this will be its maiden voyage.

I'm certain that nothing could possibly go wrong...

@WhereOnEarthDoIStart a photo would have been helpful, wouldn't it (sorry). I think @PigletJohn knows what I mean because their suggestion makes perfect sense.

Thank you - I'd been looking up how to fit carpet edging and only found people putting down little thin bits with then jutting up to perfectly straight door surrounds. This is much more what I need!
