A silly question really: we are getting Amtico glued down flooring in kitchen diner and just wondering how long it will take for the glue to dry...will it be a no-go area for few days? 🤔

We were able to walk on ours a couple of hours after they had finished laying it.

Oh that’s good to know! How long did it take for it to be laid out?

We had it laid in our dining room which is about 5x4m. It took 3 days altogether. On the first day the floor was screeded which we couldn't walk on for 6 hours, second day they started laying it from the middle outwards, and then all the edges were completed on the third day.
We've had it down for nearly a year now and we love it. It was pricey but definitely worth it!

Ah thank you thank you, so going few days without the kitchen is manageable! Glad also to hear that you’re pleased with the flooring. Looking at the boxes we ordered it seemed like lots of money for little materials (v thin tiles so boxes so thin compared to what you get with normal tiles) fingers crossed the expense is going to be worth it Smile

So we had the flooring all laid in, and it also took 3 days here. But I have to say I am starting to regret not going for normal tiles Confused. The flooring looks ok, don’t get me wrong but 3 days in and the glue is still not completely cured/dry. With the tiles we had laid in bathroom, all was fine next day! Please tell me it’s all going to be worth it at the end! I am also slightly worried it’s not going to be v durable...

It should not take 3 days for the glue to dry. You should be able to walk on it after a few hours. Even the feather edge screed laid over the ply backer only takes a few hours to dry as its so thin. Call the installer and get them on the case.

Yes, I am really confused as to what is happening here. Perhaps the installer just put a thick layer of glue? We were recommended 2 types of glue, the HT (high temp version) seems ok and drying but the other regular type has been a nightmare! It’s Amtico flooring So not cheap and really need the kitchen up and running...
