Staging an empty property to sell

We have just put our flat on the market to sell. It is a lovely flat on a lovely street in London. A few years ago it would have sold straight away but with the coronavirus fiasco it hadn’t sold yet as it hasn’t got outside space.

We did have it tenanted and the tenants left just before lockdown. So it’s been sitting empty for months until we could start doing viewings again etc.

We have had it all repainted and recarpeted but it’s totally empty and I’m wondering if a staging company would be a good idea to give people an idea of how to use the space. I have no idea how much they usually cost and if it would actually make much difference.

Flat has been on the market about 3 weeks and I appreciate August isn’t a great time to sell anyway.

@NorthSouth25 hello! No we didn’t, I think the timing was just off with it being a flat without a garden and lockdown etc. We let it again easily enough and didn’t renew the tenancy at the end of their year so we are about to put it on the market again now. We shall see what happens!

Ooh good luck. Mine has been on the market for three weeks (had one offer but they retracted it as their parents thought they could find somewhere bigger).

It almost sold before that but the buyers pulled out at the last min (they expected me to carry out (and pay for) a full structural survey on the whole building just in case .. um no! Confused

My flat sounds similar to yours - 2 bed in London with no outdoor space.

Hope you get a quick sale :)

Oh gosh, such a rollercoaster. Good luck, hope you find a buyer soon. I thought waiting for spring would be a good idea and I’m now wondering if it just highlights the lack of outside space for people!!
