Bungalows sale time?

How long did it take you to sell a bungalow?

Ours has been on since Wednesday and no viewings yet.. The estate agent did say they can take longer than houses as there is a smaller market for them and it's not in a first time buyers budget usually..

@DGRossetti yes there is level access and wheelchairs are fine to use. The previous owner was a wheelchair user

The photo of the unfinished patio would make me think you won’t be finishing it and it’ll be an extra expense to do myself. Could it be worth adding a line in to the blurb that it will be completed before sale?

In that case, make sure the photos are updated once the work is done and skip removed. Good luck with the sale.

It's a good space but the garden would put me right off. It looks a mess in the photos and the patio looks dangerous with a huge drop. If you are doing it, I'd replace the pictures asap. Also, with accessibility in mind, the garden is no good at all so that will reduce some of your market. (Like my in laws who made their house "future proof" with adaptations then had a deep gravel driveway laid. Hmm Good luck getting a wheelchair over that.)

I am not a fan of the huge laundry machines in the conservatory either. No quiet sun room or kids play room with the washing machine going.

Agree with pp about the size of that sofa too.

Thanks all. Will get estate agent to. Update photos of living room diner and garden

Agree that 75% of the photos need a revamp. Make sure you are there when they take them.
Even if it is just whilst taking the photos...
Take out the chair in the living room and put it in the conservatory with a bright cushion. Ask the photographer to take the living room shot from a different angle so the sofa doesn’t look like it blocks the room as it makes it look a thin room.
Move all the junk that is outside the conservatory window so that it looks a relaxing space that you would want to sit in.
Take all the baskets off the top of the wardrobes and clear the stuff out of sight under the bed. Makes it look like the house lacks storage.
Add a couple of colourful towels in the bathroom to brighten (looks a bit too grey and black at the mo). Remove the black toilet roll holder for the photo.
The front of house photo could be much better and why on earth did they not crop out the skip.
Fingers crossed for you.

Nice reno but the pictures are a disservice. Don't understand the lounge room layout, pink wall won't be to everyone's taste. Conservatory seems like a no man's space. Bedrooms need decluttering and backyard is a mess! Based on the photos I wouldnt view.

Thanks all we have decided to stay and extend. Patio nearly finished thankfully. Will add a few photos 😂

Patio nearly finished. Knocking down conservatory and putting a single storey extension and hoping to have open plan kitchen diner living area by using conservatory kitchen and living room space.

2 bedrooms upstairs with a shower room and that means a front bedroom can be a snug and we could get a proper utility in there somewhere

Thank you all for your comments

Really like your bungalow. I will be looking for one when I move in a year or 5. Will only have around 180,000 to spend though so it won't be as nice as that sadly.

Embracelife · 01/09/2020 20:17

Where do you eat?
Show people where dining table is.
Do you havd to go thru two doors to diner?

WBWIFE · 01/09/2020 22:41

@Embracelife we are no longer selling we will be staying and extending and also converting the loft. Our dining table is at the en dof the living room currently. Not through another door. That's why we are extending and making open plan and converting upstairs so we can move 2 bedrooms upstairs and have a lounee and spare room downstairs
