Check water on dishwasher

I’ve seen a few posts on this and I’ve had a go at some of the suggestions but there’s still some standing water at the bottom and the check water light is flashing, as is the rinse aid light even though I’ve topped it up.

I’ll pop up some photos - hope someone can give me some pointers

dented pixie is right

But first - did you pull the appliance away from the wall and thrn lean it over, backwards (not forwards) 45 degrees? Did any water run out from underneath?

If you did, and no water ran out....

start by putting the plug in the sink and wrapping something something round the tap knobs to prevent anyone turning them on

Empty the cabinet

Put a bucket under the sink waste

put on rubber gloves and unscrew the white platic collar where the hose connector fastens to the sink waste.

Peer down it and look for any obstruction. Poke the hole in the sink waste.

Put a grill pan on the floor. Lower the waste hose into it. Water may run out. If not, poke the hose. You can pull it off the plastic adaptor. Look through the plastic adaptor to ensure the factory seal has been cut off.

If you can't find a problem, hook the waste hose into your bucket, put a kettleful of water into the dishwasher, and turn it on. The pump should start and pump it out. What happens?

Hi @PigletJohn

This morning I have tipped the dishwasher backwards 45 degrees and no water came out.

No obstruction here.

I mean here.

A bit of dirty water came out.

For my next task: is the waste hose the one I've already taken off?

Does the kettle full of water need to be hot?

yes

no

when did the dishwasher last work, and has anything been done since then?

When you poke someting flexible, such as a curtain wire, down the fitting in your hand, does it meet an obstruction at six inches?

Nilbog · 25/08/2020 13:25

@PigletJohn thanks. I’ve poured the water in and turned the dishwasher on and nothing is happening.

The lights on the front of the machine are flashing next to ‘check water‘ and ‘rinse aid’.

Our one that did this (a Bosch) has a small leak around the drain in the bottom which was triggering the flood sensor and therefore the check water light. In the end it was replaced under the extended warranty.

The light could be reset by tipping the machine on its side and would run ok in eco mode which uses less water.

Looks like you need a mender.
