Rural or village for family

We are moving to a totally new area. I have one child a three year old girl starting preschool in September.

We have fallen in love with two houses, one very rural with nothing around so would need to drive everywhere and one in the heart of a village.

I want to do the right thing for my family. If we went rural with lots of land would my only child be bored and crave the village and local friends or am I over thinking this convenience of being at the heart of a village near swings, parks, school, pub and shop?

We live rurally OP, but near a small village (it did have a shop pre Covid but it's closed now 😭) we are a 7 min drive to a shop now but it's not that bad. We are 5mins to a park,5 mins to the beach. It depends on the type of rural it is. You get used to it! I love it, I have to drive mine to school as does everyone as the roads are small, windy country roads do not safe to walk. School is about a 5/6 min drive.
I love the space and the fact that I don't have to think about neighbours when we are in the garden. Our nearest neighbours are two fields away.

I'd look closely at where they might build to ruin the village by having oversubscribed schools (so you have to drive anyway).

With the rural one, is there enough land for ponies and hobbies? And do you mind driving them everywhere? Only all the outdoorsy clubs like Young farmers and Pony Club are such fun and a part of the local community anyway.

Used to live 700m from village but not very safe road with no footpath and loads of turns. Kids bikes it from young age and used to walk back from pony club regularly. Worked pretty well but they'd have preferred to be in the village and play out with other kids. Could have walked to village school but generally dropped on way to work.

Now live rurally with teens. Shit for them and taxi for me. Good for the adults but no one else.
