Corner/Floating Bifolds

Have any of you had these done?

I am considering them to make an L-shaped yard feel more spacious and would be grateful if anyone could provide more info.

If so:
What was the process like?
How do you find them?
How much did you pay and for what size?

Thanks!

Yes

  1. Process wasn't too complicated - you just need steels
  2. Origin windows
  3. The windows cost the same as any bifold - we have integrated blinds so added to the cost. We have a 2.0m by 2.4m corner.

Worth thinking about where the hinge for the opening door is (hindsight ours might have been better hinged the other side).

No regrets. We have the same tiles in and out with very little difference in floor level between then. Makes it feel very open, and we have them open a lot.

@didireallysaythat thank you! Were they fitted and made secure in one day?

@Medea11

That's hard to say. The builder made the hole for the windows, the window company came and measured up, the windows were made (meanwhile the hole was boarded out) and then when they returned with the windows they were fitted in a morning. It may be that the company we used were super cautious but our builder seemed to think this was normal. However because we had integral blinds the glass came a few weeks later (so the frames came boarded up as well). If your supplier is happy to measure up and get windows fabricated and your builder can deliver a hole which is the perfect size and you have plain windows you could probably have less time with boarded up walls where you'll eventually have bifolds.
