What would you do with this furniture?

I'm going to decorate my bedroom, I have all matching furniture and I'm wondering if it's now a bit dated. It wasn't that expensive and is in good condition with some chips etc

I'm painting the walls grey and I'm going for pink theme. Is it too much hassle to paint all this furniture, I have two bedside chests, a double dressing table, triple wardrobe and the drawers!

Or is it ok and should I just leave it, if I did paint it would you leave the tops pine and paint the rest white. I've got pine varnish for the tops and I like French Chic paint for the rest.

I would sand the pine top and handles down and then paint them a blush pink. I would leave the cream colour. It’s the pine that’s dating it. This would also be an easier and cheaper job than painting in its entirety.

I would sand the top and change the handles.

There are some lovely colourful painted styles as well as this type of brass one. Although obviously go fit whatever suits your style/colour scheme.

I agree with the pp, the line is dating the look. Paint over that and get new handles.

Sorry, wrong picture - was thinking of these!

If you are painting the walls a paler shade of grey then I would paint the furniture (including the pine) a deep dense dark grey shade. And would definitely go with the handles posted above - they are lovely.

You can spray paint furniture really easy, much quicker and easier than hand painting and gives a lovely finish. You need to take it outside though, or cover the area really well! I updated our built in wardrobes and added handles like the second photos posted above in red and blue, they look great.

I’d also paint the pine out. I’d not do pink though. Unless you like girly

Use chalk paint and then give it a coat of clear matt varnish after. No sanding etc required and you need two coats, easy peasy.

I’d paint over the pine and change the handles but the cream itself is fine.

Personally on second look I’d do the whole thing in chalk paint and then a clear matt varnish coat. Don’t use the wax,you can never paint it again.

I love this colour, it’s winter grey I think and I did our spare room pine furniture in it, looks great.
