Refused a viewing!

Do you think it's reasonable that a friend was refused a viewing of property as the agent didn't have any slots left to see it. They were told they would be called back if it didn't sell after scheduled viewings had occured if there was no offer. As a seller I would be outraged that people were turned away from viewing. Friend is a FTB with a good deposit and mortgage arranged BTW.

It doesn't matter if the house is empty, we are selling currently (well, sold in an afternoon and are currently looking for a new property), the rules are strict - the agent can only have one potential buyer viewing at a time and if they have people visiting all day what are they supposed to do? If the house doesn't sell from those viewings they will call your friend and if she likes the house she can make an offer then, so she hasn't lost out has she?

I’m genuinely very surprised that agents are meant to accompany potential buyers. Based on my experience of viewing a number of houses in different areas and listed by a bunch of different agents, there’s little adherence to the rule.

Common practice if it is a popular house, it’ll go to best and final. Should it not sell for some reason then they’ll go back to other interested parties. You could end up with endless viewings, there has to be a cut off point somewhere.

Also the Vendors are probably very aware of what is going on.
