Selling your home during covid 19 - viewings

Hi, given Covid still being around how do you have viewings organised for your home and how do you sanitise space after?

I have EA coming round to do valuation and hope to go online in week or so and want to prepare. Any tips too would be appreciated 🙂

Just watching.

All the ea that came around had masks and gloves on and asked for doors to be opened. It's worth asking what are they asking viewers to do. Ours was only taking viewings from serious buyers and they were told to wear masks and not to touch anything in house. For each viewing doors were open and if they wanted to see something they couldn't they just asked.

Everyone wears masks and provide hand sanitizer by the front door (though most people bring their own). Viewers aren’t allowed to touch things, so have all doors open and open cupboards etc for them. Windows all open to allow ventilation.

How about "Exercise common sense".Not allowing viewers to touch anything would put me off as a viewer. What next, you are not allowed to,breath in the house?

We were told by our estate agents that they would wear PPE for viewings and so would viewers. And they’d only show people round who were vetted and in a position to offer.

In reality about half of our viewers have accepted offers on their properties, the others just have their house on the market. The ones we’ve shown round haven’t worn masks (although most offered) and I don’t think the others have either.

We’ve only had to wear gloves and masks at one viewing we’ve been to (out of about 10 houses). They had a newborn so I think they had requested it as they had a box of masks by the door.

Yeah, it’s common sense to take precautions when there’s a deadly pandemic. Everyone who has viewed ours has worn a mask (as required in the national guidance) and used hand gel. They haven’t touched things, as required in the national guidance. We’ve also done this when viewing. If my 9 year old can manage it, grown adults can cope.

Common sense and personal preference seem the way forward - some owners of houses we've viewed haven't seemed bothered about masks at all, but we went to one yesterday where the agent didn't enter the house, just opened the front door for us - all doors and windows were open, and she provided a little pack by the front door with a brochure, pair of gloves, and even a pair of those disposable spa slippers for us to wear!

We’ve viewed two houses during Covid and no masks etc required.
