Online mortgage advisers

Hi
We are thinking of moving. First time sellers, so a little daunting.

I am told the first step is to get a mortgage in principle agreed. Has anyone used an online mortgage adviser for this? Seen adverts for companies like Habito and Trussle and wondered if anyone has any useful experience with them?

Thanks

I have used Habito and it was fine. I prefer London & Country though.

Haven't heard of London & Country. I will look at that - thanks. Any reasons for the preference?

I got a named contact and their direct phone number and email address. They were excellent. Whole of the market broker. They do another search when you’re close to finalising everything to make sure you’re still on the best deal. I changed my mortgage provider 3 times without a fuss.

We used Heron for our FTB mortgage and also when we remortgaged as our fixed rate ended in the spring.

I can't recommend highly enough.

I have used London and country before and they were great. However, I am currently in the process of moving and they have been beyond useless in returning calls and messages. I even have a named person and he is not returning my calls.
I have signed up to habito who seem ok, but I think I am going to use a local broker and pay a small fee, but at least feel confident I won't be ignored.

We just used Habito and found them to be great. Would really recommend

We used L and C and they were great.

I'm taking London & Country to the financial ombudsman because they fucked up my mortgaged application and cost me an extra £1,500 in solictor fees (I was going through a divorce at the time).
They admitted fault and offered me £200 which isn't enough to cover my bills not to mention the stress.

Just google reviews/complaints London & Country - I wish I had before I used them!

I used a recommended IFA - he was great, got me a much better deal than L&C as well.

I’ve just used Trussle they were brilliant. Also FTB put offer in end of June and now waiting to exchange really ! I would totally recommend these!
