Hi. Can anyone help identify what lightbulb I need to buy to replace the attached please?

They are old! Outside bulbs and the only writing I can find on them is 230v 10/15W.

Photo (hopefully) attached. Thanks!

I feel this is closer but it’s not outside but if it’s an enclosed fitting it’s possibly okay

why is it red?

you can doubtless get a modern LED one that will last much longer and use far less electricity

but show us the light fitting please, especially if it is exposed to the weather. There might be a rubber weather seal.

if it is from an external festoon it might be time to change to new.

Hello

Thanks for your replies.

Recently moved so old lights in the garden and no ideas how long they have been there. All different colours and a couple are not working.

I've Attached a photo of the fitting. Thanks

Not sure, but I think it is a string of Festoon lamps. Thus is the sort of thing you might found strung around a bar or gelateria.

Like a larger, outdoor, Christmas tree set.

They have a rubber bulb holder to help keep out water and are intended to be strung so the bulbs face down to keep rain out. The bulbs are traditionally 15Watt so they do not get very hot.

In UK you would buy them as a pre-assembled set including a lead to a plug. It would be considered necessary to have them on an RCD circuit. I looked yesterday and saw 5metre and 10metre sets, not expensive, but only had bayonet (not screw-in) bulbs. I could not see your exact bulb, but there are specialists in unusual bulbs.

Larger bulbs often have a silicone-rubber cover with the colour.

Have a look at TLC-direct if you want a new set.
