Bathroom dilemma

I seem to be doing a fair bit with the house at the moment, one of the things I want to do is upgrade the bathroom. At the moment we have a tub with electric shower over, but the shower died about 9 months ago so we have been using a hose attached to the taps, which we are getting fed up with. The tub is a lovely big size, wide and deep, which is great as I’m a bit of a chub so it’s nice to be able to submerge myself. However the bath is a bad design for its placement, and when we have a shower the water leaks out on to the bathroom floor.

We want to treat ourselves to a lovely new bath and shower, and are in the fortunate position to have a budget for something nice.

Now my options are either a whirlpool steam bath/shower all in one unit, or a whirlpool bath with electric shower over.

The single unit looks lovely and has the steam option, but the bath part seems relatively small and not all that deep and I wonder if I’m better off going for a large and deep bath with a separate shower unit, only then that would sacrifice the steam shower for a deeper bath. I bathe maybe once a week, using the shower at other times.

Genuinely can’t decide!

So the bath option would be something like this, with a standard electric shower over: www.thewhirlpoolbathshop.com/carron-whirlpool-baths/carron-mistral-1800-x-700-x-900-whirlpool-bath

The enclosed unit: www.jtspas.co.uk/lisna-waters-lww3-1700mm-x-900mm-black-steam-shower-cabin-whirlpool-and-airspa-bath---black-68755-p.asp

Don't get a whirlpool bath. My parents had one and it takes a lot of chemical cleaning to keep the internal pipes gunk free.
A spa shower would be better.

We had a whirlpool bath. Not to funk things up, you’re not meant to use bath oils or bubble baths etc I don’t think it’s a great idea to have a shower that you use regularly over one of those as shower gel or shampoo with cause gunking. I also found that with the jets on, the water temperature dropped quickly.

*funk=gunk

Good point, I hadn’t thought about the shampoo etc going into the tub.
Not sure I could do without a bath though, and have just a steam shower.
I might have to price up separate units...
