Using anti-mould bathroom paint in bedrooms

We’re redecorating and want to use anti-mould bathroom paint in the bedrooms because it’s an old house and we have some condensation issues we wanted to use the anti mould paint for bathrooms.

Has anyone any experience of using this paint before? Specifically I want to know if I can do a base coat of normal Duluth eggshell and then put the bathroom paint on top. Or would that be a bad idea? The bathroom paint is expensive so trying to think of ways to reduce the cost!

How old is your house?
Some old houses are designed to let the walls breathe to dissipate damp. It actually works. If your house is like this, putting bathroom paint on the walls will seal in moisture and create structural damage from damp.

we have some condensation issues
I would look into the root cause of condensation in your home. Do you lack venting? Are you drying clothes indoors? Showering without using a vent or opening a window? Is there cold bridging? Could a dehumidifier correct it?

I would put a proper antifungal primer layer on, then paint using the shade you want of emulsion.

I've used anti mould paint in most of my house because it's a very old damp house built into the side of a hill... it does appear to have really worked where I've used it actually.. no more mould on those walls. Make sure you are doing the other things such as having good regular ventilation as well... it does work for me where nothing else has, I've had the walls I could do damp proofed... but as I said we are built into a hill meaning theres just continual mould issues

We’ve had special vents put in all the rooms and even replaced some of the old, single glazed windows. The condensation issue is so much better now. This paint will be like our last line of defence.

Will look into anti fungal primer as I hadn’t thought of that.

Redballoon what was the name of the paint you used?
