What is checked at a rental property visit?

I am due to have a property visit/check for a rental property I moved into a few months ago. I have not rented with this agency before and the agent says she has a report to go through. Does anyone know what this entails? I have previously had estate agents come round to check other properties but they have not filled in forms/reports while doing so. Any insight?

Mine checked that I have working fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. And just have a look around to see that is reasonably clean and tidy, and that nothing is damaged. It doesn't take long

Ticky box, any obvious damage, windows, doors, walls, clean and tidy, signs of pets (if not allowed) Just a whizz around takes a few minutes.

These things always make me nervous even though we are pretty tidy and do clean the house regularly! I often feel as though they want to find problems in order to chastise you. When you are paying £1000 a month it is not a nice feeling.

Oh yeah. These things make me on edge for about a month of the year Sad. Ours walk in using the key for front door and then using an iPad film every room and take photos of anything they spot. Feel like I can't breathe the whole time They're here!

Hopefully all good and just checking it's safe and nothing needs looking at.

I have had one though at one house and then the owners wanted it back ☹️. So now I hate them.

Like I say they have to be done and it will just be general safety and not loads of damage they're looking for.

Goodluck!

They check you've not trashed the place. And that there is the number of people living there that you said there would be. (ie not unlawfully sublet to a family of 25).

I just wanted my letting agents to check for any signs of damage or wear and tear that could get fixed before they became problematic; and for the tenants to raise any issues.

I didn't give a damn if it was tidy or not ( as I am spectacularly untidy), just that the house was in good nick.

They just want to check everything is okay, take a quick look round to make sure you are keeping it okay, and off they go. Let them know if you have any problems / concerns with anything.
When I was having them done, the agent would be in and out in two minutes!

Remember you're paying your way and mention any issues you are having that need maintenance etc
They'll just be checking you haven't got unagreed pets/extra people/letting it as an AirBnB etc etc and the place is in good order
