Cost of new patio?

Thinking of getting our patio re done and a small picket fence to stop dogs going on the grass. From other people's experiences How much would it cost approx to do a 42m2 patio are and small picket fence?

Looking at an online calculator it would be about £40,000. I suspect you have your measurements wrong.

Whatever you do get a few different quotes. We’re having a very small garden (36m squares) done currently, just artificial grass and a fence. We were quoted £6,250, £5,000 and £2,500

Weirdly the cheapest one was the most impressive and knowledgable when he came to look at it and also came with great recommendations

42 square metres? I always get them confused, too! We have just been quoted £3000 for 32 square metres with sandstone. Quotes seem to vary hugely, am getting more!

I think you mean 42 square metres. There's a very big difference.

OP - do you mean that your patio is
a) 42m x 42m (42 metres squared?)
b) 42 square metres e.g 4.2m x 10m?

I’m not trying to be an arse but the latter seems unusual.

Mine is 50 square metres. Everything needs levelling as my current patio is on a slope, new steps up to my back doors and french drains. Altogether it is costing me £4.5k-work starts in 4 weeks.

Hi, can anyone recommend an artificial grass. The more I research the less able I am to make a decision. The grass is far a back garden, I had a membrane installed already to prevent weeds etc. There would be low traffic, mainly me and a medium sized dog.

We’re having ours done at the moment but haven’t yet chosen which type to go for. However I’ve been advised to get the most expensive you can afford. Apparently a lot of the cheaper ones get really hot in the summer so you’re constantly hosing them down. I also read something about the more expensive types being easier to maintain if you’ve got dogs as well

Thanks ‘Turnedouttes’. I agree with you, I just find conflicting reviews on even the most expensive. In case it helps you, I’ve been recommended to check they’re European; that they are odourless, UV and fire resistant; that the lower thatch is nylon and the longer one polythene and the fibre thickness is 200/99 microns. I think I need a g & t 😂

Following as we are also looking, also around 40 Square metres. We've struggled to find people to come and quote as everyone seems busy, but the one we have had so far quoted £100 a square metre plus Vat for Indian stone. Unfortunately we just can't afford that but also cannot fins anyone else!

I'm in Yorkshire and have just been getting quotes for around 26sqm. The prices have ranged from £1800 for cheap concrete flags. To £2100 to £3600 for sandstone.

ours is small 3 metres wide by 6 metres long and cost was around £1000 in Yorkshire but my builder son did it so he charged less money per day for putting it in would probably have been £400 more if a company had done it

Any recommendations for reasonably priced porcelain outdoor tiles?
