AIBU to want to ban power tools on a Sunday?

We moved to a delightfully quiet road after years of being on a much busier one (which got busier over the years) and next door to a man who was not happy unless he was wielding a power tool every weekend and evening.
Since the summer we have found ourselves sandwiches between someone who has their bifolds open so they can listen to their tv in the garden and someone who behaved like a teenager blasting music out all over the neighbourhood. Additionally, music neighbour also likes a bit of a blast on a power tool just to remind himself he's still a man presumably.
We always seem to get these neighbours.
Everyone goes on about "mental health awareness". Well how about just being a bit quieter in your neighbourhood so that when people want to get a bit of mindfulness by being in their garden they are able to listen to the birds rather than stereo of Sky Sports and That's What i Call Music. Thanks

Nightmare. We had a man across the road who just wouldn't let it rest. When he wasn't out at work, he was drilling or hammering or using some massive hired tool to "improve" his garden.

I went over one sunny Sunday morning and asked if he could pack it in just for one Sunday. He started shouting that "the work has to be done". Bloody arsehole. I could see his wife through the kitchen window, looking really embarrassed. I expect she's been trying for years to get him to put the power tools down.

what a horribly sexist post.

tools mean people doing work, and as people have paid jobs in the week they have to do DIY at the weekend. TV, music and dogs are the antisocial noises.

YABU People who work full time only have the weekends to do bigger gardening or DIY jobs.

Try moving to Switzerland? One flat my husband was in had a ban on using the washing machines (in the basement) on Sundays as it was noisy. Where he was there was no lawn mowing, no working, no noise, and pretty much no fun allowed on Sundays, might be what you’re looking for?

It works in Germany. I found the rules on noise in Germany very relaxing (although it meant the work on construction of a block of flats was allowed at 6am on a Saturday morning). But it meant you could rightly complain at music in the Arden at 10pm and lawn mowers on a Sunday (technically we couldn't even use a hoover on a Sunday, but my neighbours were fine with that)

Noise pollution can affect people badly.

With more people working at home, doing noisy jobs in the working week would hardly be more considerate.

I get that it wears you down but I find the music/TV much more irritating, because it's avoidable.
