Does anyone have a kitchen layout / design tool they can recommend?

Hi all,

We have a reasonably large kitchen / diner. It was originally two rooms, knocked into one when we bought it. There was a very small, slight difference in floor heights (heights?) which meant that even thought a flexible sub-floor was put down, over the last 6 years we've lived here, the ceramic floor tiles have cracked significantly and now we have to redo entirely with something more suitable.

The kitchen layout isn't perfect anyway, and rather than just waste money on ripping up the floor and relaying with something appropriate because it's now urgent, we would like to play around with layout ideas to see if it's worth possibly re-configuring the entire space and kill two birds with one stone.

Has anyone used an online layout / design tool that's easy and effective, and if so, can you point me in the right direction pls?

There's one on DIY Kitchens which is pretty easy to use if you have basic knowledge of design/CAD software. Even if you don't, you could probably learn to use it in a few hours.

I played with floorplanner.net
It's ok, non square rooms get a bit awkward, sizes are not uk sizes too.

Thank you both for the suggestions, I'll have a look.

Took me less time than this and I can be a bit of a moron! I'd second the DIY kitchens planner.

If you want a happy human behind it, try looking for karen at OnePlan. She doesn't sell stuff, she just designs with people. Does free safety checks of 'done yourself plans' for Mumsnetters too.

I'd second using Karen. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again.
