Ring doorbell with alarm and sensors or proper trade fitted alarm?

1950s semi here on a big, big estate, I would like an alarm system as currently there's nothing.
I love the idea of a ring doorbell so I can see who's there if I'm not, and would combine with their sensor and alarm.
Is this too faddy and trendy, will I be beset with niggly problems or would I be better off with a standard alarm fitted by a professional? The proper alarm system doesn't have a telephone call system with it, (where if the alarm goes off it alerts you by ringing you, I'd be relying on neighbours).
Any advice or pros and cons?

I use the ring alarm system. I really like it. It’s easy to set up and you can add to it with extra sensors etc over time.

Paying for additional monitoring is a bit annoying.

Alerts to my phone are instant.

App is easy to use.

Keypad is battery and mains plug so you can move it around the house.

Very easy to install. Just peel off the backing and stick the sensors on.

Haven’t had any false alarms as yet.

I’m hoping that they integrate with Philips hue lights soon but not likely. Unless they already do and I’ve missed it!

Thank you so much!
I see there are 2 versions, one is £99 and the other twice as much but I'm not sure of the difference, do you know which yours is? I've been quoted quite a lot to fit it, but I'm sure it's quite easy to set up, did it take you long?

Jumping on to follow as I'm interested in the Ring doorbell but I'm confused by all the different models!

Me too @torthecatlady, it looks like one is hard wired and the other battery operated but I'm not totally sure!

Ive got the Ring Pro. Installed it myself but I’m a jack of all trades builder type. I had a Nest before this one and it was better. Face recognition and better performance. It was stolen though after three weeks so I chose the Ring because they replace if stolen and I didn’t want the faff again. It’s perfectly good. It relies on your wifi of course.
Mine is hardwired but you can get battery ones.

We’ve had a Ring but depends on your WiFi and we’ve found it just keeps malfunctioning every few months. Their customer service is quite good but it’s annoying having to deal with it periodically. It’s a faff.

We have reolink and its fab, also higher data protection than ring and easy to use app

Great, thank you for the advice. I need to go and decide which one to go for, my WiFi is with plusnet and it's unbelievably shit so that's an issue too!!
